Singapore is one of the most expensive (and CLEANEST) cities in the world. It’s a lively city filled with loads of attractions, restaurants, and shops to keep you busy. So if you’re thinking about taking a trip down to Singapore here’s a list of 7 top attractions you won’t want to miss.
1. Merlion Park
Merlion Park is a major landmark located on the waterfront in downtown offering great views of Marina Bay. It’s also home to the nation’s iconic Merlion statue spouting water from its mouth. The Merlion is a half lion half fish mythical creature believed to bring good fortune.
Wander Tip: When I went it was blazing hot out and there wasn’t much shelter around. So make sure you come prepared for rain or shine.
2. Marina Bay Sands Sky Park
Marina Bay Sands is a luxurious hotel with a unique futuristic design. It contains the world’s longest rooftop infinity pool and the observation deck on top offers an amazing panoramic view of the city.
3. Suntec City
Shop till you drop at Suntec City, one of Singapore’s largest shopping and entertainment hubs.
4. Fountain of Wealth
As you might have guessed, the grand Fountain of Wealth is a symbol of prosperity and wealth. It is said that walking around the mini fountain at the base three times while touching the water brings one good luck.
5. Singapore Botanic Garden
The Singapore Botanic Garden is the country’s very first UNESCO World Heritage Site. Escape the hecticness of the city in this tropical garden oasis.
6. Chinatown
A big chunk of Singapore’s population is Chinese so of course visiting Chinatown is a must. It’s a fantastic spot for authentic food and cheap eats. There’s an endless variety of eateries at your disposal.
Wander Tip: Be sure to enjoy a local dish at one of the hawker centers!
7. Sentosa
Sentosa is a fun island resort bustling with activities and adventure. It’s perfect for a quick getaway!
Wander Tip: You should dedicate at least one full day here in order to fully take advantage of what the island has to offer.
Here are a few of Sentosa’s popular attractions:
Siloso Beach
Lined with a stretch of palm trees, Siloso is a sunny beach great for relaxing. Stick your toes in the sand, go for swim, or simply come here to unwind.
Skyride
Ride the Skyride for a stunning bird’s eye view of Sentosa Island and the Singapore city skyline.
Lights and Water Show
At nightfall, be sure to check out the magnificent lights and water show! Previously called Songs of the Sea the show is now called Wings of Time. Be wowed by a spectacular display of colorful lights, music, and fireworks.
My #1 Pick
My favorite spot was Sentosa Island! There was so much to do and I really enjoyed the lights and water show.
