Silver Anniversary at Sea celebrates Disney Cruise Line’s 25th anniversary since its very first ship, the Disney Magic, took its maiden voyage! A Silver Anniversary sailing is full of the enchantment, 5-star service, world-class entertainment, and delicious dining experiences that you would expect from any Disney cruise but with an extra touch of magic.
I got to experience this on a 5-night cruise on the Disney Magic and am sharing all the cool special offerings you can expect to find on board a Silver Anniversary sailing!
25th Silver Anniversary Decorations
Of course the atrium is decked out in spectacular Silver Anniversary decorations. The portholes are tinted with the 25th anniversary symbol. Mount Rushmore at Castaway Cay has been repainted in Silver Anniversary colors. These all add to the celebratory spirit and make for a perfect photo op!
New Disney Character Shimmering Blue Outfits
Mickey and Friends (Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Goofy, Pluto, Chip ‘n’ Dale) are all dressed up in their brand-new shimmering blue glitter outfits. You can take photos with your Disney pals in their dazzling outfits during the character meet and greets.
Wander Tip: On my cruise the characters wore their Silver Anniversary outfits on several occasions including embarkation day, Silver Day at Sea, and the final day. So if you don’t catch your all favorite Disney characters in one go don’t fret because you should get more opportunities throughout your cruise.
Unique Silver Anniversary Key to the World Cards
The cute new Key to the World Cards are shimmering blue, display the 25th Anniversary symbol, and feature Captain Minnie. The details are a nice touch and the card makes a good free souvenir for yourself!
Delightful 25th Anniversary Food & Drinks
You can find special food items on board commemorating Disney Cruise Line’s 25th Anniversary including cakes and other sweet treats. In addition, there’s a signature Silver Anniversary cocktail called Jubilee by the Sea which comes with a recipe bookmark and a lovely coaster.
Disney Silver Anniversary at Sea Merchandise
There are Silver Anniversary Merchandise available exclusively on board Disney Cruises including 25th Anniversary clothing, cups, jewelry, and more. The Silver Anniversary Minnie Ears and Loungefly backpacks were hot sellers among guests on my cruise.
Beer lovers will be happy to hear that the refillable souvenir beer mugs also sport a 25th anniversary design.
Wander Tip: The staff members replenish inventory so no need to stress too much when you see someone snatch that last item you were eyeing off the shelf.
On the first day of my cruise there was already a line formed outside White Caps about 30 minutes before the shop opened. People in line were plotting out what items to snag first and they made it sound like things would be sold out immediately. I got super anxious because I really wanted to buy the Silver Anniversary Minnie Ears and there was quite a number of individuals in front of me.
I kid you not once the shop opened people ran in there like it was Black Friday. You can imagine how thrilled I was when I grabbed my Minnie Ears before they ran out.
Come to find out there was plenty of backstock and the staff constantly replenished the shelves. I stopped by the shop several times throughout the cruise and noticed there were still plenty of Silver Anniversary merchandise left over. Not sure if this is the case in all cruises but that was my experience.
Shimmering Seas Soiree
On Silver Day at Sea there’s a special reception where everyone gathers in the atrium and toasts to Disney Cruise Line’s 25 years at sea. Crew members are around the area carrying trays with free drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options). Mickey and Friends join the party in their shimmering blue outfits dancing while singing the Silver Anniversary at Sea theme song.
Wander Tip: Mickey and Friends start singing on the staircase then proceed to the stage so go early to secure a good spot for viewing.
Limited Edition 25th Anniversary Popcorn Bucket
There’s a 25th anniversary popcorn bucket that you can add to your Disney collection. Refills are discounted so make sure to buy your popcorn bucket on the very first day to maximize your value. The popcorn buckets are available for purchase at Preludes.
Wander Tip: I found the freshest popcorn to be from the popcorn cart right outside Buena Vista Theater around movie showtime.
Exclusive Castaway Club Member Gifts
Castaway Club Members are in for a treat with wonderful surprises on board a Silver Anniversary at Sea sailing. All Castaway Club members receive an adorable Mickey lanyard which comes in different colors according to their tiers.
As for the highly anticipated gifts, Silver Members get a cute tote bag. Gold Members add in a Wet/Dry bag. Platinum Members also get a beach towel. On top of all that Pearl Members receive a lovely pair of tumblers.
In addition, Castaway Club members will receive an exclusive Captain Mickey framed art print by Joe Kaminski. It comes in a neat box framed along with a certificate of authenticity.

Shimmering Seas Light Up the Night Fireworks
On most 4-night or longer Silver Anniversary at Sea sailings you get an extra second set of fireworks! On my cruise we got the Silver Anniversary fireworks in addition to the usual Pirate Night Fireworks. It is a spectacular firework display presented along the 25th Anniversary theme song.
Wander Tip: The fireworks shoot out from the starboard side (right side) so come early and snag a prime spot for viewing.
